Another way to keep on budget is to use different varieties of flowers. Talk to your floral designer and discuss some lower priced flowers or combinations. Don't get stuck in a rut thinking that certain flowers will make bouquets look "cheap". Carnations are on the low end of the price range for flowers because they are grown in abundance and are highly availability. Have you seen some of the varieties of carnations lately?? The colors are amazing.
Keep cost at a minimum, reanalyze your decorating scheme. Does every pew of the church need flowers? Denote the important parties by having flowers on the rows they will sit. usually only the first few. The rest can have very nice pew bows affixed to them. Also at the reception you may have decided you really want elaborate centerpieces for the guests tables. That can add to your tab really quickly. How about only putting the highly elaborate pieces on every other table and subbing a more cost effective design on the other. Your guest will still get the effect of the high end table decor.
Plants can be another way to save some money. In spring beautiful pots of pansies can decorate the room, summer use potted zinnias or sunflowers, towards fall hydrangea and mums add a spark of color. Decorate the pots with artistic foils or colored tissue paper, add elaborate bows that corresponds with your color scheme or flower picks to add some glamor. And when your done transplant to your garden so your memories can live on!
Remember this is your day and if you really love flowers there are ways to save some change. Just remember not to skimp on the Bridal Bouquet, this will be in all your pictures for you to remember. Relax, enjoy and have fun planning!
